Crinkle, where did you find this little piece? It is true that blood transfusions are now a DA offense. I am just curious where this quote is from.

by crinklestein inthey are seriously backpeddling, these freakin jackasses!
they have changed their mind about the issue of blood transfusions and have made it a non-disfellowshipping act!

by Blueblades in.
.
the article takes up the whole back page,i don't know if someone already scanned it for us or already commented on it on another thread,so i won't print it out here, unless i get permission from randy or simon.with the new format i don't know if it is ok to share the free minds journal articles on this board for those who don't have a subscription to it.does anyone know if we are allowed to post information like this or not.the posting guidelines # 4 is my concern on copyright materials.. if it's ok i will share some of the points from this article that i think is one of the best written on "the 1914 dilemma".. blueblades.

So What's Your Porn-Star Name? (Fluff, BTW)
by Englishman inyou take the name of your favourite pet as the first part of your porn-star name, then you take your mothers maiden name for your porn-star surname.. which makes me...george bennet, hmm fairly ordinary i suppose... but her ladyship becomes...poppy male...ah, it works sometimes then!.
this could be good.

Sorry, but I just can't muster up too much sympathy for this guy. He cheated on his wife, he's busted. End of story.

Thank you sir, for your efforts in putting this material together. This is definitely a keeper. It is plain to see that Witnesses are not guided by their Bible-trained conscience, but by what they are told to do by the organization. The 1998 article is particularly heartless, as you pointed out, in blaming the individual witness, who was merely following Watchtower orders. Yet somehow they are to blame, not the organization
Wedding anniversaries were
waffledhandled the same way. For many years celebrating an anniversary was forbidden, then it was made a conscience matter. Do you know of any witness couple whose conscience still will not permit them to celebrate their anniversary? I don't. -

I did a double take at our circuit assembly a couple years ago as I walked past Prince. He is in our circuit I guess, and there he was. He is hard to miss.
Larry Graham was interviewed at the District Convention last year. I really thought it was incredible how he was used as an example of someone who was able to simplify his life and pioneer. I guess even though I am not a multi-millionaire musician, I should somehow be able to arrange my life to devote more time to the ministry.

Liberty,
You liked that? thanks! And you are absolutely right about what their response would be. It's like hitting a brick wall. It's God organization, he'll take care of things in his own due time. I had one elder tell me that God allows bad things to happen in the organization to test us. How sick is that? And yet at one time, most of here accepted and agreed with that kind of logic.

Mackey,
I will chime in only to agree with what others have said. I too have been trying to share what I have learned with a close family member, only to be rebuffed. No amount of pleading, arguing, begging, will have an impact on another person until they are ready to open their mind to an alternative point of view. You could have signed confessions from the Governing Body with photos, that for decades they have ritually abused children while on gambling trips to Las Vegas, using funds from the contributions to the worldwide work to pay hookers and buy Havana cigars while killing small kittens, and this person will dismiss it.
You need to take care of yourself, and be there when your friend does start asking questions.

Dissing the JWs....
by ScoobySnax ini've been inactive for a few years now, and yet, despite all i read, i can't feel as you mostly all do.
i have a lot of happy memories of being "in the truth" (and i know how much some here hate that line) and fond memories of the meetings and assemblies, sure it was much easier to break away and live life like i am now,..... but well, thats just how i feel.
i can understand those that may leave for personal reasons, but not sure i'll ever understand some here who have such a hatred of anything jw related.

Six,
Not that I am bitter in the least, lol, but I was always well aware that other churches and beliefs were corrupt and misled. Finding out that my own religion was as bad or in most many cases worse has much more personal passion for me. That's likely why I spend my time on a board devoted to JW issues.
That was exactly the point I was trying to make. Its different when it's your church. I am not defending the Borg, but I think realizing that they are just another goofy religion might help you get over the bitterness.
